Start with parts where the gap is smallest and the pain is greatest: high freight cost, long lead time, frequent quality issues, or parts you change often. Leave the hardest, most tooling-heavy parts until the process is proven.
Expect a documentation gap
Long-running offshore parts often lack current drawings, material specs or a record of undocumented process changes. Budget time to rebuild the package — sometimes by measuring and reverse engineering an existing part.
